Competition Crew Information
We will be going into the 6th season (2026/27) of our JCDC competition crew, and we could not be more excited!
This program is the perfect opportunity for dancers who want to take their training to the next level and spend more time here at the studio. Interested in learning more? Email us!
2026/27 Audition Information

Audition Dates/Times
Each dancer is required to attend all three days of the audition process
MONDAY, MAY 18th
Dancers will participate in a traditional jazz class, where they will learn a combo which will be performed on Thursday
TUESDAY, MAY 19th
Dancers will participate in an acro class, they will perform skills down the mat and will be evaluated by our acro staff members
WEDNESDAY, MAY 20th
Thursday will be the official audition day. Dancers will perform the combo they learned on Monday, as well as go across the floor and demonstrate skills for a set of outside judges. They will be scored on not only their performance that day but also how they performed throughout the week.
The times listed below will be the same each day
Grade for 2026/27 school year
Pre-K-2nd- 4:00-5:00pm
3rd-4th- 5:00-6:00pm
5th-6th- 6:00-7:00pm
7th-8th- 7:00-8:00pm
9th-12th- 8:00-9:00pm
(same time each day)
What to wear:
Wear fitted dance attire (shorts, leggings, crop top, tank)
Hair slicked back in a low pony/bun
Turners (or barefoot) for Jazz/Audition Day
Barefoot for Acro Day
What to bring:
Water bottle
Turners (3rd & up)
A positive attitude and a big smile!
Anyone is welcome to audition! No specific amount of experience is necessary.
Current JCDC and non-JCDC students are allowed to try out!
(Current competition dancers must reaudition for placement)

Elite Crews
Take your training to the NEXT LEVEL here at JCDC! This team will consist of dancers ages 6+ who are looking to take their dance education more seriously!
7+ hours per week
4 regionals, 1 nationals (alternating years between close and far)
Required Classes: Jazz, Lyrical, Acro, Ballet, Contemporary, Technique, Hip Hop
Production/Lines and Additional Opportunities for Small Groups, Solos, Duos, Trios
Competitive Crews
The competitive level crew is ideal for dancers who want to take their training more seriously and make dance their top priority!
5-7 hours
3 regionals, 1 nationals (alternating years between close and far)
*If you are invited to additional opportunities, you may have a 4th regional competition
Required Classes: Jazz, Lyrical, Acro, Ballet, Technique (45 mins) , Optional *Hip Hop (45 mins)
Production/Lines and Additional Opportunities for Small Groups, Solos, Duos, Trios
Showcase Crews
Get your feet wet in the competition scene! The JCDC Showcase Crew will consist of dancers from 4 & up, looking to go beyond recreational dance and have the opportunity to compete at competitions!
4 hours per week (2 days)
2 regional competition April/May- (No Nationals)
Required Classes: Jazz, Lyrical/Open, Acro, Ballet (over 2 hours/2 days per week)
